Our granddaughter has our car with the state park sticker on it so we went local today.

First we started out with my wife driving, first time with her new eye. New eye lens. Noticing all the things she had been missing as her eye sight had faded. Somethings you don't realize you are missing until you get a second chance. I've heard the same from people who get hearing aids.

Cobly Park has a couple of parking area's, today the first one was occupied by a political party so we parked in the other area. We have walked this area a few times, north and south. I thought it was all one big park but Google maps doesn't have it in green.

There is a path that runs from Colby Lake park on the north to Edgewater Park on the south. The west side of Colby Lake is mostly secluded. There are houses on the one side of the path but there is a little 'nature' between their property and the path.

On the east side of the lake, the area is open to the road and the lawns. A lot less secluded, but we walked around the lake and that is what we got.

Saw lots of squirrels in the adjacent yards. 2-3 to some yards. Some were just going along on the grass and digging/sniffing every foot or so.

Today's walk was over an hour. Longest one at one time since we've started walking again.

Based on looking at the map, this trail also runs almost over to Cub near Radio drive. There is a large Seasons Park over there that we haven't walked to. And lots of other short paths that get the locals from their street or area to the main walking path.

FREE and close.
