Change of plans.

My wife decided she needed a bathroom break and the next closest non-business one was here. We were traveling up US-61 and this park is about a mile off the highway.

Nice plus of having an annual pass. You don't need to plan to spend the day to use the pass.

The main parking here is full. Extra cones have been set up where people are not supposed to park ... and a line for the bathrooms. My wife sees the line and heads to the pit toilet. Both the water and the power hand dryer have been shut off. Not sure if it is because of covid or because it is past Labor Day.

As many people as there were here, it looked like maybe an event for someone. A few of the people seemed to know each other.

We hadn't planned on walking and we didn't. We walked down the pavement to get a good view one direction and then back and sat at a picnic bench for a while. My wife tried to figure out my new phone and I watched the barge boats. Lots of them today.

We were there about a half hour. Mostly sitting out of the van, but we did walk enough to stretch the legs.

We have been at this park a few times in the past. Looking at their map it looks like there is about a half mile of paved hiking. Other than that beware. I'm sure there are some flatter trails but there are also some that have lots of steps.

Nice view without having to walk for a couple of miles. This view is just past the end of the parking lot.

Now we are done for the day and maybe for a few days. Heading home.
