"A Walk in the Park" - Definition = something that is very easy to do, and usually pleasant

Not today.

We wanted a place where we could eat outside on Monday. Last week we sat outside at sat in the heat and hot sun so we wanted some place cooler.

We decided to go to Duluth on Sunday night, spend parts of two days and enjoy a good meal out doors.

We forgot to check the weather.

Sunday we left the Twin Cities with temps in the 70's and when we got to Duluth temps were under 40 degrees. And raining. With wind.

A long as we were here, we did walk a little. Once the rain stopped, mostly stopped, we went for a walk on the Canal Walk right outside of our building.

The boardwalk was mostly destroyed during three storms in 2017 and 2018 and now looks like they may be able to have it open by next weekend, Memorial Day.

It looks like they have now lined the shore with large boulders where the sand/gravel shoreline used to be. The area against the boulders has a knee / waist high wall next to a cement walk way.

Then there will be a narrow grass area before a blacktop path, then another grass area and then the dirt trail. I think the cement is for walking, the blacktop is for biking and the dirt is for horses.

When we were walking, either it had started raining again or there was a lot of spray from the lake. Either way we were getting wet.

We walked about a half hour, the first half along the shore, then on the sidewalk in town.

Later, after eating, we went out to walk again. A lot more people out walking but the weather seemed cooler. This time we only did a 15 minute walk. Out to the lighthouse walk and then west around the buildings.

Hopefully next time we come up here the walkway is done and the temps are at least 30 degrees warmer.
