There are actual islands in the Gulf that are part of this park. But it is hard to tell in this area as there are more island than water, where does the Gulf start? What looks like open water is likely 5-10 miles from this point. Some of the park islands are directly south of Marco Island.

This place has a paved parking lot that holds about a dozen cars. It says it has no facilities but today there was a usable outhouse.

There was one donation place here but no big sign or suggested amount.

The trail starts out the first quarter of mile as paved until we get to a two story overlook. Today we did not climb the stairs to the overlook.

After the pavement ends the trail is almost as flat, it stays maybe three feet above the water. Today we walked about a half mile each way here. We had just done a mile at the prior park a few miles back.

This is another out and back trail.

All we saw today were birds. No gators, no squirrels.
