2023 10 05 - Omaha Bike Trail - Camp Douglas WI

This is the start of a 13 mile trail from Camp Douglas to Elroy that is on an old rail bed.

There is a sign that says a 'Bike Fee' is required, I have not heard back yet to see if the fee applies to walking also. The fee is $2 a day and can be purchased online.

At the start of the trail there is a city park with an outhouse and shelter. Parking is on the city street but it is a small town and not a main street so not an issue.

The website says this is a payed trail but less than a mile down the path and the trail becomes two tire tracks.

Nice day so nice walk. Once you cross the street to get to the trail, there were no other cross streets in the first mile plus. There were a couple of farm crossings but no traffic :)

Picture: Interesting that there is grass growing down the center of a trail that only bikes are supposed to travel on. This area does not look like it ever was paved.
