From our hotel, we were just over five miles from this park. $8 a car to get in.
There is a gift shop/building near the entrance and we stopped there. Lots of stairs to get up to it. Or a very long ramp.
There are paths here, including a paved path from the entrance to the far parking lot. But the people at the office suggested we stay near the south/west shore line. MOSQUITO's.
So we took their advice and walked the coast. Shells, The 'sand' is just crushed shells. And we can't walk without crushing them more so we quickly stop trying. And we didn't walk to walk to far. There is always a chance of rain and today there was a good chance.
Walking on the loose, loose sand takes a little longer so we didn't walk as far as we often do, but might have walked just as long. Not much to stop and look at, a few shells once in a while. Today we walked one direction from the car and then the other direction so that we would be closer if it did start to dump.
It didn't. A few drops only.
When you are right on the shoreline there is not much change in elevation and here the shoreline didn't very much from the water line.
They do have an eagle nest at this park, but we have seen eagles so we were not going to brave the mosquitos to see that.
