2024 09 10 - State Beach - Half Moon Bay CA

We are back at Half Moon Bay State Beach this AM. This time we are at the Roosevelt area.

The first half of our walk we do on the paved area. It is on the same level as the parking area so almost zero elevation change for the area we walked.

This shows about how far above the beach we are. There is a stairs to get down to the beach shown on the picture, but the beach has changed and you would end up in the water.

We did finally find a narrow passage that the horses had been going up and down and we were able to get down there OK. We then walked back on the beach.

At one point I had seen a pair of glasses laying on the beach ahead of us. Interesting because there were very few people close to the water anywhere on the beach. But from the time I saw the glasses there were three waves that each moved the glasses closer to the water. And before we got to the glasses they were gone. I had my driving boots on so I was not going to go into the water after them ...

We hadn't noticed it when we arrived but there was a boat ramp to the beach at the camp ground right next to the lot where we parked. That made it easy to walk back up to our car.

It was not sunny today but not too cool. I think the only people we saw in the water were kids, and not likely for long.
