2025 10 27 - State Park, Prairie Creek Redwoods, Orick CA

Just another lief.

NOTE: THIS IS BEING WRITTEN UP FOUR MONTHS LATER.

(Quote from notes I took the day of the hike)

"When we got out of our car, someone started talking to us right away. There was a woman who was lost and a couple who was trying to help her. They finally said they would go to where the lost woman says her husband was and let him know where she is.

Her phone battery is dead (and we have no cell service) and she thinks she came from a direction that is not logical to me. Her husband hadn't come to get her yet so we stayed talking to her. Then BB started cleaning out a spot in our car for her so we could give her a ride, then her husband came. She had been wrong about which direction she came from. But I'm sure being lost in a 14,000 acre forest is not a good feeling."

Note sure which kind of leaves these were pictured above, but they were huge.

This area of the park is a mixture of redwoods and other trees. It also has a creek running through it. Creek was maybe 10 foot wide and about a foot deep near where this picture was taken.

The trail was mostly level but not paved or smooth. Nice walk but not nice for wheels of any kinds.
